Bobby Yetter (Citizen Seven & Bogeyman’s Tears)

It’s been ages since my last post and I would like to formally apologize for my lack of persistance, so “I’m Sorry.” But moving on, I want this post to highlight a good friend of mine and one of the most talented musicians I have ever met. His versatility alone is astonishing, starting off as folk singer/songwriter, he has delved into experimental electronic, hiphop, and triphop.

The first song is the single from his newest project, Bogeyman’s Tears, which consists of himself (Citizen Seven) and Nick Sweat. It’s a spacey tale about love and love lost. A great track that makes me excited about the upcoming LP.

The second song is a throwback to his acoustic-folk roots and one that I have always enjoyed. It is very dark, mysterious, and drenched in reverb. In my opinion, the banjo gives it a Sufjan Stevens feel. So without further ado, here is Bobby Yetter and his music. Enjoy.

Today – Force Publique

Sorry I’ve been away for so long…summer just started and I was in Paris for a couple weeks…I know hard life right? But now back to the music! Here is a great cover of a Smashing Pumpkins song that is weird and creepy but awesome at the same time. Certainly a unique take on a classic track. They are also playing the Larimer Lounge this weekend for those of you in Denver.

Sometime Around Midnight – The Airborne Toxic Event

This song has one of the best builds that I have heard in a long time. Throughout the entire track I am looking forward to what they will throw at me next until, at the end of the song, the singer is screaming and I really feel like I’m part of it. A must listen…and not a bad video either.

Heartbreaker – Girls

This is a great tune that I came across the other day on Spotify. Love the band and think this song is very well made and put together. If you all don’t use Spotify Radio yet you’re messing up.

Handshake – Two Door Cinema Club

Here is the new single by one of my favorites Two Door Cinema Club. KInda creepy but I think that’s why I like it.

Wishes – Beach House

This is a great song but an even cooler video…I wish all sporting events had intermissions like these because I would go to a lot more.

Deckchairs and Cigarettes – The Thrills

I randomly came across this band while checking out CDs in my local library. They had a cool name and even cooler album art work, album title So Much For The City. So I checked it out and they became a top player on my iPod. Here is my favorite song from the album, Deckchairs and Cigarettes.

Streetlights – White Lies

It’s night time and I’m doing homework…this band is getting me through it one beautiful song at a time.

Karate – Kennedy

I just had to put this song on here because it is hilarious and has one damn funky groove.
